Ipods come with a USB cable that you use to connect to your computer. With an Ipod, you'll need to download Itunes free from Apple's website. Then you can import music from cds or your hardrive or purchase music to download directly from Itunes- at $0.99 a song.

Well make sure you have your music in a file like say, My Music.
Go to the top of iTunes and click on FILE> Add File to Library> search for your music in the file and select all the tracks you want to add...if they are mp3 files they will add immediately, any other file it will have to convert it to the AAC format for your iPod.
An easier way that I do is just drag the music files into iTunes....much faster and easier!

Hope that helps!

this is the step by step. first plug in ur i pod into ur compwith the cord it came with then download i tunes. if u got ur i pod new then it is the disk if not then go to http://www.apple.com/itunes/overview/ and download it for free. then u need a way to get all ur music be it cd's or get it illegally. got to http://www.limewire.com/english/content/home.shtml to get free music. then when u download all the music u want off of limewire go to the library on limewire and click the explore button and it will tell u what folder ur music is in. on mine it is in the shared folder. then when u get ur music go to i tunes and click file and then click add file to library and find the shared folder. then u have to add each and every individuall song. then it will b in ur i tunes library and then after all that. click file on i tunes and click update ur i pod. and then it will be on ur i pod.

pick me for best answer cuz it prolly is.
