Now you're just lying. In Iran, your Constitution codifies Islamic principles of government. There is no tolerance in Islam for homosexuality.
We don't allow homosexuals to be married because traditionally, a marriage was a covenant between a man and a woman with the purpose of bringing children into the world. That role has somewhat changed, but there is not enough support to allow this to happen.
We don't allow the needs of the few to trample upon the needs of the many (homosexuals account for only about 10% of the total U.S. population), but we have a system in place that would allow for this change if it was supported by the majority of voters. That is something that Iran doesn't have.
The only people that want to allow homosexuals to be married are homosexuals and divorce lawyers.
Maybe there will be gay marriage in the future, maybe we should bring back polygamy, or even let people marry their dogs.

They can't "get" married because people wrote the bible. If god had written the bible, he would have been clearer in saying that he may have meant for it just to be men and women, but since he gave us free will, he doesn't condemn actions of free will or genetics( ie homosexuality). I believe homosexuality isn't a choice, but I am not homosexual so I guess I wouldn't be an expert opinion.

What I don't understand is in some places in the Middle East, women are used to pro create (sp) and men are for pleasure (yes- with other men). Why even bother getting married?

they can, they just wont be officialy accepted as married in certain states. America does allow it, along with many other "freedoms". silly do your research, unless.. you dont have the freedom to do so. heh
