Well any 14 year old boy has video games. Find out what video game system he has and buy a sports game, they usually cost about $50, which isn't too bad. Id suggest Madden 07, or NHL 07.
For the girl, id suggest maybe a picture card for her camera, if it is digital.
Or her favorite book series....
Or if she hangs out with her friends a lot, she may need money for going to the movies or something like that.

Marcus theaters in my area offer gift packs - two tickets, drinks and popcorn for about $25. Or find out her favorite author and get her a book. For the boy how about tickets to high school football, basketball, etc. Or a team jersey.

For the girl: A gift certificate for digital prints and maybe an I-Tunes gift card. (All teenagers would love that)
For the guy: Tickets to a local sporting event (or even a college sporting event close to you/him).

girl: CUte girly photo album for her to store her pictures of her friends. one she can carry around in her purse. get her a fake( fake ones look so real) coach or prada bag or somethin like that
boy: putting practice pad for golf. or DVD or a basket ball guys love to shoot hoops at any age

get them gift cards so that they can choose what they want instead of you going crazy over figuring out what they would like and they end up not liking it.
gift cards are much better (LaSalle bank gift cards)
