like the thought bubbles in comics

For Mac users, there is a great program that does this ... called Comic Life Creator (see link to it below).

For Windows users, there doesn't seem to be a program that really does this well suprisingly enough. If anyone knows one, please let me know too. Some photo imaging programs have a rudimentary balloon caption but the problem is that either you don't have that many choices of a balloon style or the ability to reshape it. So you're left with trying to fit words into a balloon and they may not fit.

in your start menu, go to "run"

type "mspaint" in the box.

when paint opens, open your picture from wherever you scanned it to on your computer. (in the menu go to File, ...Open)

you can use the circle tool, or the paintbrush tool with the color white to draw the speech bubble, and then the text tool to type words in it in black.
