I know gemstones are used for healing, but what's the difference between gemstones that are reiki charged and ones that are not?

My Dear Lady, you dopn't have to worry about reiki. It is a very good source of energy that's used for healing and realignment of self. You don't have to fear to wear reiki charged stones. I am glad, though, that youasked about this so you could find out your own answer. Good Luck and Blessings.

If Reiki scares you so much, don't wear the jewelry.
Reiki is nothing more than Universal Life Energy. It is not evil.
By charging a gemstone or jewelry with Reiki, someone is trying to make that item send out positive healing energies.
Anyone who says that Universal Life Energy is of the devil or evil is ignorant.

Any time that you feel uncomfortable with a piece of jewelry, immerse it in salt and put it in a cupboard for 3 days.
Whatever charge was on it will be gone.
You don't have to believe or disbelieve anything for this to work.
You don't have to chant anything, it is a metaphysical property of salt.

Pay attention to your feelings of discomfort or automatic fear, because they might be warning you that the thing involved is not harmonious with you or your ways.

Reiki in general is all about healing and beneficial, but if it doesn't feel that way to you, purify the item in salt and avoid Reiki or at least Reiki from that person.

Reiki is not evil - it is just a technique for healing.
No more "evil" than a massage or physio-therapy, or acupuncture, or chiropractic treatment.

In many ways Reiki is basically the same as "laying of hands", so in that sense it may be easier for you to feel comfortable with it if you think of it as being like a "blessing" by a priest or your grandmother or something...

Those who do reiki are simply using a technique for doing healings with energy. This is done either with their own personal life energy, or by drawing on the infinite source of all life, which is less exhausting.

If you wish to think of that as evil it is your choice. I know that certain christian fundamentalist groups tend to think that -anything- that is not from their own sect, or church or even their local pastor is automatically evil and Satanic. I think this is because they are paranoid. They insist that if it doesn't agree with the precise letter of their doctrine then it is automatically from satan or something like that - I think they are just religious bigots, and that they lack the humility to recognize that god may be more tolerant and generous than they are - but that is just my view.

I think the truth is that everyone may do good and evil - and you should make your own choices.

As for the jewelry; Personally I seriously doubt that there is much of a "charge" of reiki that can really be placed in a gemstone - it is much more probably just simple jewelry.

Why do they claim that there is? Well - If you are sensitive to energy patterns you can pick up a kind of echo or memory on jewelry or any other item that has been in contact with a person's body. This echo tends to be from the last person who held it, and is stronger when it comes from someone with strong emotions. We call this psychometry, but it's a fairly rare gift among clairvoyants. Perhaps the reiki workers that sense such a charge are just being fooled by their own subtle talent for that kind of thing, into thinking that their own energy has "charged" the jewelry because they sense their own patterns echoing back...

In my experience the charge on jewelry and from the natural vibrational frequencies of gems tend to be quite small - compared to the actual energies of a reiki worker.

I think this is because, usually substances made of metal will dissipate any energy "charge". They seem to be as much a conductor of life energy as they are a conductor of electrical energy.

That said; there may be some things that do work this way - gold jewelry does seem to hold a "charge" just like the way a piece of iron can become magnetized by being rubbed with a magnet. In my experience the jewelry which is reputedly "charged with reiki" is not specifically made of gold and therefore I would be suspicious that it may just be a scam...

Go with your instincts on this one. If a particular piece of jewelry has a negative feeling when you wear it, if you find yourself inexplicably depressed or having mood swings when you have it on, or if something just doesn't seem right. . .don't wear the piece.

Gemstones have natural energy, not imposed energy. They are what they are, and their healing energies ae pretty well defined from the get-go. However, they can absorb negativity and need to be cleaned from time to time in running water, direct sunlight, or burial in earth.

Reiki charged jewelry started out neutral but has had energy patterns deliberately imposed upon it by someone else. The nature of that energy depends on the intent and abilities of the person doing the charging. At best, they're charged with healing energy, but if the person is acting negatively or has bad intentions, the jewelry can absorb that energy and affect anyone who wears it.

Again, your gut feelings when you handle or wear the item are the best way to determine if the piece is right for you. If you have questions, let someone who is sensitive handle the jewelry and get a feel for the energy patterns around it.

..... nothing. The Reiki ones are just charged for healing. The other ones aren't charged at all. Besides, you can always purify the crystals before you wear them and remove any charge already on them.

Reiki is not evil, and you don't need to be worried. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive.

You can't "charge" jewellry with anything. Don't worry about it

Reiki is healing energy...not evil! What makes you think that healing energy would be evil? You'll be safe! I promise you! You should read up on the subject if you are frightened of it. Ignorance breeds fear.
