Somalia may be one of the most fragile and potentially explosive countries in the world. Its environment is shattered. Its population is soaring. Disastrous famine lurks. AK-47s and other guns have multiplied since the 1990s. And there’s no stable government to speak of.

Somalia is on the East coast of Africa, just to the right of Ethiopia.

The only way to make that country 'catch up' with the rest of the world is to wave a magic wand and make the Islamists disappear. Islamists do not want their societies to 'catch up'. They actively fight against that prospect.

I'm an atheist but I wish there really was a god to help those poor people.
It all seems so hopeless, I don't know how the world can even begin to deal w/ all their problems.
It will take a much better person than me to have the kind of dedication needed to help in any measurable way.

there is no hope for them, that whole region will never move forward. they are unwilling for change and will not help themselves one bit....................
