St. Nick and Santa Claus are the same person, called various things by various religions. Either way. He comes on the night of the 24, when all the good little boys and girls are asleep in their beds, visions of sugarplums dancing in their heads.

In Germany, Nikolaus is usually celebrated on a small scale. Many children put a boot, called Nikolaus-Stiefel, outside the front door on the night of December 5 to December 6. St. Nicholas fills the boot with gifts, and at the same time checks up on the children to see if they were good. If they were not, they will have charcoal in their boots instead.

Having once lived in Germany, I do believe that St. Nick is a German tradition but I am not sure as to what the date is that he comes. Sorry and good luck.

No need to be rude, you have clarify your question. December 6th is the answer, but a lot of people, me included would naturally assume that you meant another name for Santa Claus.

wow! my parents always celebrated St. Nicks day also. Now I have carried on the tradition w/ my family. My kids are now 21 &18, and they still enjoy it! I have always been told that you put your stockings out on the 5th and a gift is left inyour stocking by the 6th. Have fun with it! :)
