I really don't recall seeing a lot of Filipino nurses in hospitals. I quess it depends on what part of the country you live in. I've seen different nationalies, but none stands out as being Filipino. Could it be hospitals are paying them cheaper wages? It's a possiblity. Hospitals outsource medical transcription work to other countries because the costs are cheaper. Money probably is involved. I don't think they're necessarily better nurses, it's all about the dollar. And hosptials make a lot of money.

I live in Pittsburgh which has way too many hospitals and I can't say I have seen many filipino nurses and there are quite a few filipinos that live in this city. So I think you're only talking about certain areas of the US rather then just the US in general.

America welcomes anyone who is willing to work hard to help, while it is sad that the young people in America are unwilling to pay their dues, it is great that we have other (any) people willing to help with our elder issues, allowing us the time to build our nest eggs to fund future immigrants a chance to come here to get started. It's not a right to be an American, it's earned by hard work and perseverance! My for bearers where good hard working Polish Railroad men and their wives, they died young and made a better life for their children, God bless the working man! Born with a silver lunch pail in his (her) hand!

All I can say is that I have worked with them in the dialysis Field and ,I found that they are very articulate, caring and work very hard at their profession. I think Americans ,at times, tend to get a little self centered and lazy. Working with these women inspired me. They are wonderful.
