I asked him to proofread my essay. I sent it to him a week ago and he never "have the time"to read it. I need it very urgently,so how do I politely hurry him to do it ASAP?

Just ask what he thought of the essay you sent if he thinks it is OK you need to turn it in if it need help would he give you some help.this is a nice way and it give him some control.

I would kindly say that you really appreciate him offering to proofread your work and that you understand that he is really busy. Let him know that if he is going to do this for you that is great but, if he cannot you need to know now so you can let someone else do it. If he says he will do it and you still think he will not, you should let someone else proofread it in addition to your friend. It never hurts to have several eyes look at your piece. You can only benefit from the additional comments and suggestions. You cannot risk turning in a late assignment when it is not your tardiness. Remember to thank your friend either way and let him know you really appreciated his time.

Ask someone else to do it. Is he the only person that you know that can proofread essays? Go to your schools tutorial center!

Print out a hard copy
Look for him (lunch time /dinner time)
Treat him a good meal
and ask him to proofread for you right on spot!

let your friend know that you understand if he s busy but youd really appreciate it if he could proof read your essay like promised because your paper is due and that his opinion on your essay really matters if that doesnt work send it to me ill proof read it i have a degree in education and english happens to b one of me strong points

Just tell him that if he's not able to read it for you as he promised, he needs to tell you now, so you may still have a chance to find someone else to do it.

Don't. Get someone else to do it. If your friend does not understand the word urgent, go somewhere else. Besides, he may really be busy.

Offer to make him dinner or take him out to a resteraunt in exchange for reading your essay. Then have him do it!

Just ask him if he has the time to do it by _______, becaue you really need it, and if he can't you will find someone else to...and be nice about it.
Maybe he doesnt really want to do it, but is one of those people that just cant say no...we all know one!
