An RN is a registered nurse. A radiologist is a medical doctor. The doctor makes more money, but goes to school for about six to eight years longer than an RN.
If you mean a radiological technician, that is at most a 2 year associate's degree, and they don't make as much money as an RN.

It depends what you want in a job too. If you have a family and dont want to work holidays I would get into Nuclear Medicine or sonography. That pays just as much as an RN depending on your demographics. I am going into Nuclear Medicine and they work mon-Fri and can get paid up to 5$ and hour over the entire weekend if they want to be on call. But all in all it is about what you want in a job. Nursing programs are extremely hard to get into right now even with a 4.0 yet there are so many health care jobs out there that are very similar in pay not to mention sonography and N.M. are both 2 year programs as well. usually can be done at a community college for cheap. Not easy programs (any of them) but fast and you are almost ushered right into a place to work because you do clinicals during those 2 years and the hospitals get to see you and can ask you to work for them when you get out.

It depends on how specialized you are. Radiological technicians has different levels. The most basic level is only qualified to take x-rays and gets paid less. If you continue your studies to where you are trained in more sophisticated imaging techniques and radiation therapy, then your salary will increase. At the highest levels, radiological technicians get paid more than RNs.

An RN might earn extra funds. yet bear in mind RNs could artwork time beyond regulation, weekends, and nights beginning out. And rad techs likely do no longer could artwork time beyond regulation, weekends, or nights except they choose to. additionally the two majors are complicated to get into this methodology. additionally plan on having no existence on an identical time as in college. you will could be taught and do projects for all time. and you are going to be taught for state and national board assessments to develop into registered.
