IS it fair that I only get to celebrate one day of Chanukah with my family.....and have to spend a weekend with all of his???
Or am I making a big deal out of nothing?

You should totally make your goy-boy spend more Chanukah time at your house, or even make him be like me and try to learn the Chanukah prayers. Honestly, he should respect you and let you spend more time with your family.

If that doesn't work, get him a kippot or a menorah for Christmas, or secretly make some arrangement for him to say the Sader at Passover.

You are making a big deal out of nothing. You can easily pack the menorah and take it to his parents house and include them in the celebration as well. Plus, your only going for the weekend so that means you will have 5 days of Chanukah with your family if you wanted.

Christmas just happens to be the "holiday" for December...everything else takes a back seat- you get time off for Christmas but most people don't even know what Chanukah means. So I think you are over reacting.

Be glad that you have a family to celebrate ANYTHING with. Both my parents are gone and the siblings in the family are simply despicable. Some of them didn't even go the funeral home and they don't even know where their parents are buried. Nice family, eh? I disowned them years ago. I'd love to have a normal family to do anything with. So count your blessings, and go with the flow!

Is there any way you can spend two days with both fanilies? If not then it may just be the way it needs to be. If you can and he won't then yep throw a fit.

Why don't you negotiate with him on more time with your family this year? You could alternate every other year on having more time with each family.
