My new pet rabbit doesn’t like those green pellets, I buy the mix and she just picks the colored ones, and she doesn’t seem to like snacks with dairy, like yogurt balls. I like to spoil my pets so I want to treat her w/ an untreated food each day. yesterday I gave her a 1/2 of a small banana. lettuce is bad, right? Is spinach oK? are other leafy greens ok? My mom gave her a tiny leaf of cilantro and she loved it but I told her no more until I find more info, oh yeah how often should I feed her, I leave dry food, & water during the day, then @ night I give her a fresh treat, so far its only been apples and bananas. What foods should I avoid, and why?i.e causes diarrhea, hate it.
Also, do have any suggestions about entertaining them, we got several jingle balls,a wooden basket, a cat condo, cardboard box with shredded paper inside. I can’t think of anything else, she’s by herself all day except dinner time & wkends. i feel bad, they're
curious animals they probably bore easy.

Rabbits can eat most fruit and veggies. Rhubarab, potatoes, iceberg lettuce, and the green leafy part of tomatoes are dangerous for them. Most others are ok. Check out the house rabbit society website for a complete list.

Sounds like a pretty fortunate rabbit to me. Lettuce is OK but not every day or very often and when you do give it lettuce (leaf lettuce only, not iceberg) - be sparing. Apples, pears, celery and carrots (don't peel them because the nutrients are mostly in the skin) are great for health. Cucumbers are good too. Change the brand of pellets if it isn't eating the ones you give it now. Try baby food also. Good Luck to you and your new pet.

Don't buy the mixed feed, or if you do, don't let her pick out all the good stuff and wait for you to dump the plain pellets and give her a fresh batch. She's like a little kid; she needs to eat her vegetables.
Plain pellets are just fine for rabbits, nutritionally. They're very hardy.
For treats, cilantro and parsley should be just about perfect. She'd also enjoy the branches of non-poisonous trees: maple, oak, apple, rose. Even a handful of fresh (chemical-free) grass is enough of a novelty to be a treat.

You need to keep your rabbit from eating your dog's food. Rabbits are herbivores, and dogs are carnivores. You're feeding your rabbit dead animals.

Pellets are good and all, but feeding mostly hay and fresh veggies and fruits would be best.

Hay is the #1 thing though - timothy grass hay (not alfalfa). She should be allowed to eat as much as she wants of it. Very good for her.

veggies - darker greens, the better. Romaine, dandelion greens, etc. Only give carrots sparingly.

fruits - apples, strawberries, plums, pears, etc. Lots of stuff.

My rabbit LOVES parsley as a snack =)

Talk to your vet to find a completely nutritionally balanced diet for your rabbit.
