There is no more harm in RFID chips (at this time) than in walking down the street, exposing yourself publicly to scrutiny of others.
At some time in the future, all technology or even non-tech can be used for evil. It is the improper activities of which we must be wary, not necessarily the technology. I think you are correct to be concerned about possible evil uses - but what in particular do you have in mind?
If this nation becomes more dominated by Socialists, then even RFID could certainly become a problem. They are control freaks. If they get access to information on where people are going, it enables them to efficiently do harm to those who are 'not with the Revolution' as the Socialists put it.
At this point, I am okay with RFID being used to thwart theft, to track criminals, to do security checks. I am aware that it is used frequently for these purposes.

This may not be brief, but i will try.
Rfid chips undermine privacy, whether or not they are a useful tool is irrelevant. The following amendment will show why this is an illegal use of goverment and/or private power.
Amendment IV
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
This amendment is violated because you or your possesions can be searched for without a warrant. This is done by the national and private databases in operation. By using these databases and rfid technology your movement, business, and day-to-day activities can be monitored. This monitoring is also a violaton of the 4th amendment. You can also see that such evidence is used is to violate the 5th and 7th amendments. This violation is done by the patriot act and the secret fisa courts which can withold evidence, not allow you to have witnesses on your behalf, not have a speedy and impartial jury, and other violations of the constitution. Please be warned of the acts and other legislation that take away our liberty in place of security that may or may not work.

i think of it no longer likely that the chips, that are already in use in numerous places that i understand of, would be necessary. they do no longer would desire to be. they're being seamlessly inserted into our society even now. extra effective than probable with in each and all of the high quality print which you settle to every day there are references to permitting the use in issues you request. some familiar places RFID chips are already in use is in own id enjoying cards you carry with you mostly in a pocket or around you neck on a sequence, in credit enjoying cards, passports, on pay as you go passes for some bridges, roads and tunnels, as a gasoline credit or debit instruments, and on some bus and subway systems. you have paid for it. you p.c. the boldness yet possibly did no longer comprehend that the innovations may well be additionally taken as a means of id theft, or as a means of monitoring your strikes or habit. All it takes is a RFID reader. initially those instruments got here with an related battery and hence had a existence only for the existence of the battery. the commonly used instruments do no longer require a battery. there is sufficient skill in the sign. some means exist so you might decrease detection of a few of your credit enjoying cards and passports. One occasion is on the region under. The Mayans has many ideals. however the only you picked is cherry picked out of a basket of them. the tip of the age or end of the international is sensational and we at the instant are in an age while what's sensational continues to be favourite over what's precise. it particularly is between the main undemanding instincts annoying under pressure into our gadget and meant to guard us from saber toothed tigers who needed to apply us as nutrition. there are a number of very genuine emergencies this international faces devoid of believing that the international's historical past is flat and we can bypass off the tip if we bypass a tactics sufficient. thinking like this is evokes others to have self belief that maximum folk would be controlled employing chips like manufacturers on livestock.

RFID scares me. Why would anyone want to be tracked, without consent? For instance, Nike wants to imbed RFID in their shoes. Why? So advertisers could see who buys what products, and wears Nike shoes. That may be harmless, but what happens if, for example, the police or HSA put a scanner in the sidewalk, and they start logging the names, dates and times of passerbys? Where does our Constitutional freedom end, and the invasion of our privacy start? Shouldn't I be able to buy or sell whatever legal item I care to, without winding up in some database simply because I purchased something?

RFID is in those credit cards that you just wave over a reciever. A thief can record your card number while it's in a wallet in a pocket or purse, using a handheld device from four inches away. Real great idea.
Otherwise, I think they're great, unless they want to plant one under my skin.

Maybe it is the mark of the devil the Bible warns us of. I don't like big brother having that kind of hold on me or mine.
