Well, bring your computer to Best Buy for a check up.

Depending on your OS, you may have a recovery disk that should let you bring your PC up in either a safe mode or in MS-DOS.

If you can bring it on in either of these modes you should be able to correct the problem. It sounds to me like it could be a driver problem. If you are comfortable working with your drivers you can probably bring it back, but you might want to find a geek friend to help you through this even if you are a geek yourself.

It sounds recoverable to me. Your power supply is working, and it's next to impossible to damage a motherboard short of it being struck by lightening.

Good luck!

Reminder: Do not blindly install all updates!

It is possible that your monitor or video card have died, but more likely you have installed an incorrect driver for your video card.

Boot into Safe Mode (Press F8 repeatedly while booting) if that does not work, then you have serious problems and should see a repairman.

Right click on "My computer" choose "Properties", "Hardware", "Device Manager". Find your Display Adapter, right click on it, select "properties", "Driver". "Roll Back Driver". Whew!

A computer geek would probably shutter at this suggestion, but I would unplug your entire computer system, let it sit for a minute or two and then plug it back in. I used to have to do this to my computer at work periodically (at the suggestion of IT by the way) and it always worked. Try it.

My concept could be once you initiate your laptop and that test comes up initiate in secure mode or wide-spread mode, you to click on secure mode then while you're on vista your laptop will arise and your show decision will make your icons greater, as quickly as you think of your laptop is became wide-spread then re boot it and initiate on wide-spread mode , while you're having norton anti virus then i strongly propose you to do an entire gadget virus test because of the fact from the sound or your subject it sort of feels to be an epidemic to me......
