Soon I will be going to the Netherlands and I will be arriving in the amsterdam airport. It's my first time flying out of the country and I am just wondering what I have to do when I get there? I mean, they don't randomly strip search people right? What kinds of questions do they ask and do I have to fill out forms of some sort? (ps: Going to visit a friend... not for the drugs ;) )

When you get off the plane and come through the gate (all planes park at the terminal, so you don't need to take buses or anything) you will come into the hallway.
Follow the signs to BAGGAGE CLAIM... they're yellow signs. If you keep following these, they'll lead you to the PASSPORT CONTROL area.
Get in the line that says "All Passports" and, when it's your turn, step up to the counter and present your passport. They'll either take it, look at it for a few seconds and stamp it with an entry visa or, surprisingly they may even just wave you through.
When you pass the PASSPORT CONTROL you will now be in the BAGGAGE CLAIM area. Look on the monitors to see which carrousel your flight will be offloading. They are numbered from 1 to 16 (I think), so it will be easy to find the carrousel that your bags should come on. Get a baggage cart while you're waiting (it can take 10-30 min), find your bags and load them onto the cart.
When you are ready to leave the BAGGAGE CLAIM area, look for the exit that has a GREEN sign saying NOTHING TO DECLARE. Most people exit into the main terminal through this doorway, so get in line and just walk through. Sometimes the customs agents will randomly pull someone aside to check the contents of their bags, but this is not so common.
Exit the BAGGAGE CLAIM area through these doors and you will come into the main terminal area and hopefully see your friend's smiling face!

You go through customs and get your passport stamped with a entry stamp. If you have an U.S passport you do not need a Visa to enter The Netherlands. I do not know the requirements of citizens from other countries. They won't strip search you unless you make some kind of threatening remark as they don't know how to take a joke especially if it is in a foreign language.

It's not like in the USA. Just take your passport with you ofcouse. When you come at the airport you go true customs and give theme your passport. Don't might not even ask you questions. Than pick up your bags at the luggage claim and make sure you have nothing to declare and you walk true and your friend will pick you up. No picking up your luggage twice like in the USA. Have fun!
