Don't worry...it's just a superstition. Do you believe in not walking under ladders, fearing black cats and all that stuff? Of course all normal people do! Being scared of Friday the 13th is just the same. Really, the only thing you have to be scared of is some of the weird things that people like witches do on those days because they think it has weird powers.

It's my understanding that the number 13 was in some way significant or sacred to the ancient pagans. In order to discredit, paganism, the early christians proclaimed the 13th to be evil. I'm not sure about the friday part.

King Philip the Fair of France had Pope Clement III, who was his lackey, issue a Papal order condeming the Order of the Poor Knights of Christ and the Temple of Solomon (The Knights Templar) arrested on charges of Heresy because Philip owed them a lot of money and he was broke. He hoped to get his hands on the Templar fortune but he didn't get it. This order was carried out on Friday the 13th of October, 1307 799 years ago.The Templars who escaped set sail from South France in 18 galleys and took the treasure with them. They sailed to the West coast of Ireland then on to Scotland where some stayed and fought under Robert the Bruce at the battle of Bannockburn.

The Grand Master of the Knights Templar, Jacques De Molay was caught in France and was tortured in an attempt to get him to give up the treasure but he refused. They nailed him to a doorway with nails through the palms of his hands and through his ankles; the scouraged him with a whip and they stabbed him in the side with a sword; they also forced a crown of thorns onto his head, but they didn't kill him then. He was still alive but in great pain when they wrapped him in a shroud. His body was producing large amounts of lactic acid from the pain and he actually etched his image into the shroud. It's now known as the Shroud of Turin. The image isn't Christ, it's Jacques De Molay. They later roasted him over a slow fire.

The Templars who escaped and who later left Scotland and sailed West, did so flying the battle flag of the Knights Templar from the masts of their galleys. A black flag bearing the image of a skull and two crossed bones, so can you guess where they sailed to?

Anyway, that's why Friday the 13th was cursed. De Molay cursed King Philip and Pope Clement as he was being roasted, and they both died withing a year.

Cool story, no?

Now, in case you have been an Israelite, saturday the 14th grow to be a super day. yet enable's say you have been an Egyptian. the classic Egyptians is the place we get maximum of our superstitions from. What got here approximately to the Egyptians the day formerly the Israelites have been set loose? What got here approximately to them on friday the thirteenth that would desire to be seen very unlucky? consistent with possibility each and all of the firstborn died. consistent with possibility this grow to be only the tip results of an complete sequence of adverse plagues. i might say that would desire to make a reasonably super impact on me as to the unluckyness of that day. And that superstition might impact each and all of the encircling international places, like Greece, Rome, and you call it.

I think it is only unlucky if you believe in superstitions. At least that is my opinion. Everyone has one as they say. I am not superstitious so it doesn't seem unlucky to me. Just another day. What are your feeling?
