He probably won't like it, but sometimes it's necessary to help remove a stuck shed or to get him to defecate. If you do place him in a tub with warm water, make sure it is lukewarm. Warm water to you is usually considered HOT. The temp of the water should be between 88 and 94 degrees.

I have a Ball Python right now and well when I stick him in the water it seems as if he likes it. Make sure it's warm enough though. Mine goes into the bathtub once a month and sometimes more depending on if he has poop stuck to him. Also is he has a bad shed. But what our exotic vet tolds us if he DOES need a bath then just stick him in a plastic tub with a lid fill it up with water and make there are holes in there for him to breath and leave him in there for about 15-20 mins. But you shouldn't have any problems.

He make try to get out but that's b/c he isn't used to it. Mine did it the first 3 times we stuck him in some water. but if you watch them they are some great swimmers!!

In general snakes hate water, so I wouldn't bath him just because you feel like it. It is sometimes neccessary to deal with a health complaint, for instance stuck shed or a parasitic infestation.

It isn't neccessary that you bath your snake during a shed unless you see him actually having problems. Shedding is a stressful time for a snake and you should leave him alone as much as possible. To be honest people make too much fuss about the shedding time; I never bath or spray my snakes and they give me perfect sheds. Remember that the snake knows best, he knows how to shed his own skin and if he wants more moisture, he can use his water bowl.

It's recommended to help aid in shedding, and if left in the cage, it can increase the humidity. Some snakes will use it and some won't. This might be dependent on the species or it could be unique to that particular snake. The worst that could happen is that the snake chooses to not use it.

I put my 4 corn snakes in the tub all the time when they need to shed. They love it. They sleep in their water bowl constantly. The tub would be fanastic for your python, more room for him to swim and play.

you should only put them in the tub if they are having shedding problems and find it hard to get their skin off.

that should be fine. Just make sure you ease him into the water, dont just throw him in.
And make sure he is completely dry before you place him back in his cage.
Be prepared, mine tend to use the bathroom while in the warm water.
