Frankincense, Gold, and Myrrh.

Frankincense and myrrh are both resins -- dried tree sap -- that come from trees of the genus Boswellia (frankincense) and Commiphora (myrhh), which are common to Somalia. And in the time of Jesus could be found in southern Saudia Arabia.

And, of course, gold is gold.

Gifts Brought To Baby Jesus

Since the scriptures specifically record three (03) gifts, i.e., gold, frankensense, and myrrh, misguided people wrongly assume there were three (03) wise men.

In fact, the scriptures do not say how many wise men there were, who they were, nor does it specify which countries they come from.

Furthermore, the scriptures don't tell us how much gold was given to Jesus Christ, or what it was used for.

Were gold, frankensense, and myrrh the ONLY gifts given?

The scriptures don't tell us.

Gold,
Frankincense
and myrrh

Frankincense and myrrh are both really good smelling resins that can powdered and used for either scenting things or incense. Or they can also be distilled in alcohol as a perfume or cologne type product. It's smells pretty good, and if you've ever been to a Catholic Christmas mass, you've probably smelled them.

They were worth A LOT back then.
