Personally, I love going tanning. I can just relax, be warm, listen to music...and get tan! That is when I “go” tanning, as in a tanning bed.
I just get packages and go a couple times a week so I’m not overdoing it. I also love having some color. I don’t tan all that dark, but I don’t burn either. So I would say- if it’s your thing and you are smart about it, enjoy yourself.
Otherwise tanning outside gets me overhead, irritated, and gives me a headache.

I believe that going tanning DOES make you feel better. I think that it increases your self-esteem. When you go tanning, (and if you plan to take off your clothes in front of someone) then tanning, of course will cause you not to be pale pasty white, which in turns makes you feel sexier. Also, have you ever heard the term "tan fat is better than white fat" or maybe i just made that up??..anyways..tan fat is better than white fat..being tan, makes you look slimmer for some reason, but everytime i go tanning i always feel sexier. Also, it gives you time to think. Its so nice to lay in a hot bed, listening to music, relaxing. It gives you time to think, like i said. If you have a busy job or a busy life and you always find yourself never getting some alone time..taning is a great way to get that time. You can lay in the bed, relax and just think. For me, it takes away some of my stress because i can think, and because afterwards i feel sexier. Hope this answered your question (and you'll pick me for best answer) Have a good night!!!

yes! I go tanning usually everyother day and sometimes once a week. It really helps with period cramps too! Whenever i'm on my period and i'm having really bad cramps after 12 minutes in the tanning bed I feel SOO much better! It is also very relaxing and soothing in the bed feeling the warm rays on your skin! Not to mention the beautiful results u will see FAST! and yes, take it in small doses, dont tan every single day. =]] theres always the skin cancer risk ((which you already know))

I think so.
But my tans are from the real thing.
I go on the beach and the sun shines UV rays on my skin and I get a bronze color to my arms & legs. I seem to become a true Floridian with a natural tan.

I only went a few times before prom, and I found the process terrifying. I walked into a cylinder with my little goggles on, closed the door behind me, grabbed handles in the ceiling, and tried not to move for 10 minutes because I thought the walls would burn me. :shudder: If you were calustrophobic, that would make it even less of a feel-good experience

Yes, I think so. Just laying in a warm, comfortable area, relaxing is a great way to make you feel better. I love to do this for relaxation and so does my brother-in-law who has a really high stress job.

well im somewhat pale, but i would never go tanning. learn to embrace your skin because no matter what color it is you can always play it up. people who tan too much look fake and insecure. plus, once you reach your 40s and 50s you dont want to look like a leather couch.

Yes, tanning skin cells actually release endorphins -- your body's "feel good" chemical -- and consequently some people actually can get addicted to tanning and experience withdrawal-like effects if they break from their schedule.
