Techno--TRUE techno--hasn't had much hit the mark outside of samples in hip hop songs.

Trance on the other hand? Ian van Dahl, 4 Strings, DJ Sammy Alice DJ, Cascada, just to name a few...and to a lesser extent, DJ Tiësto, BT, and Ferry Corsten.

Electronica is far to broad a term. In any case the biggest mark EDM had on society was when Big Beat got big in the late 90's. Fatboy Slim, Chemical Bros., The Prodigy, Propellerheads. Guys like that.

"Born Slippy" by Underworld. At least I recall it from the Trainspotting soundtrack.

Also, "I See You Baby" by Groove Armada was pretty big. As was "Ready Steady Go" by Paul Oakenfold, seen during the dance club shootout in the movie Collateral.
