I think I have a sinus infection. What is the treatment of a sinus infection? A shot? Medicine? Or what?
Thanks

Hello Randa. I use to suffer from sinus infections every year around this time. My doctor introduced my to an antibiotic called "Z-pack". Its a packet of 3 pills that you take over a three day period. It works so fast and it relieves your pain within hours of taking it. It is by prescription, but it is the best. I took it for about 3 sinus infections and now I dont even get them anymore. It is as if the medication helped build up my immune system. Ask your Doctor or nurse. I am sure that they have heard of it.

I hope this helps.. and I hope that you feel better.

Get a nettie pot and wash out the sinus several times a day. If it hasn't taken ahold, that should take care of it. Also you might get some ear wash and wash out your ears-the ears and sinus are connected and if one backs up it can affect the other.

Regular use of the nettie pot can prevent sinus infections.

depends if it is viral or bacterial. most start virally, and do not require antibiotics. treat with hot steams to the face, lots of warm drinks and clear fluids in general, and try mucinex or sinus formulations like advil or whatever over the counter. if it doesn't start getting better in a few days (cough can last for a little while), or if your phlegm is greenish in color and you're feeling feverish and sore muscles, then go see a clinician.

A decongestant to unclog you. An antibiotic to kill the bacteria in your sinus. Tylenol or Advil for any pain you may have from the pressure.
