A man has two shaving choices:
1. Electric razor--easy, but doesn't give a close shave. Once beard comes in, have to shave several times a day to keep it looking shaved.
2. Razor blades and shaving cream--close shave. Steps are , wet face; use a little bit of shaving cream, apply above lip. Use new razor to shave DOWN from under nose to all areas where the mustache is.
DO NOT slide the razor side to side or you will cut the skin and bleed.
When your full beard comes in, always use down strokes when you shave your face. This will prevent ingrown whiskers. Also, rinse your razor frequently between shaves.
Don't forget the little patch under your bottom lip.
I personally recommend shelling out the extra bucks for a good razor, not the cheap Bic kind. But you won't have to worry about that for at least 4 to 5 years.
Good luck with that first shave.

use hot water on your face before you lather up because it will open your poo rs and give you a closer shave. Shave w/ the grain not against to prevent nicks which will happen anyway. Use a good sharp razor not a cheep disposable one for 99 cents. the Gillette Mach 3 turbo is a good one. rinse your face w/ cold water to close your pours and will also help to stop any bumps or rashes to form

very carefully, ask your dad for advice. If you arent comfortable shaving with a razor use an electric, it wont do as good of job but for 14 should be just fine.
