dogs. people say cats are smarter because "they think for themselves," but dogs are happy to see you when you get home and don't just appear at meal times. Cats also have a litter box... Dogs are cutter too. :-)

It really depends on what you are looking for. Cats are great pets, (mine even comes when called, well most of the time) and they are very independent, which is nice if you ever want to go over night somewhere... But, dogs have this happy-go-lucky life that just makes you want to smile. Dogs live in the present tense, they don't hold grudges for what happened yesterday (you worked 8 hours and didn't come home to visit them) or any ideas what could happen tomorrow. They are always happy to see you, even if they just chewed up your favorite pair of shoes. Good luck on your decision! Depends on your personality and preferences. Cats seem to be more demanding for attention, always in your lap or under your feet, but there are some small dogs the same.
I prefer dogs, cats climb on your counters and tables.

I have a dog who has a cat.
let me explain. When I got my dog, a Shih Tzu, I had time to play with her a lot. She likes a lot of attention. Then my life got really hectic and I just didn't have that much time to play with her. My dog sitter has a cat and my dog enjoyed playing with her. So I got her a kitten. It really worked out great.

Cats! Cats are always a much better pet than dogs.I don't know why people like dogs.

well i think cats but that is just because i own three but i think cats and dogs are the same what i mean is dogs are fun and you can play with them but cats well like to sleep and ackket mice but in the same way their both =

I can see both sides but I like cats more. They're their own "person", are smarter, cuter, smaller, lower maintenance, cleaner and learn to love only ONE person. Dogs are dirty (eat their own feces), their always drooling, they dont bury their crap, and their always sniffing guests crotch. I prefer outdoor male cats the best; they rome the streets, fight off animals and even if they're gone for 3 days they'll always find their way back home and snuggle in your bed at night.

I say dogs there mans best friend and cats poop everywhere even inside your house but you need to train your dog first

depends on your situation really. I love dogs but cats are a better pet for me because I am not home enough to care for a dog. Both have their plusses and minuses. :)
