Are you asking about the Tower of Bable, if so:
Archaeologists examining the remains of the city of Babylon have found what appears to be the foundation of the tower.

Babylon was a city in Mesopotamia, the ruins of which can be found in present-day Babil Province, Iraq, about 50 miles south of Baghdad.

That should be "was" - the city of Babel and its infamous tower no longer exist, lost the desert and the sands of time.

It *was* in ancient Akkad (later known as Babylon) which sat on part of what is modern day Iraq.

Archaeologists have established the existence of the remnants of a tower in an area of modern Iraq, previously known as "Mesopotamia", or in ancient times, "Akkad "(aka Babylon).
