Because of the insane reason that at some point in time men heard that "bigger was better" and ever since then it has become an obsessive battle of viagra and enhancement to reach some impossible size. The fact is that all a woman's main nerve endings in her vagina are within the first 2 inches. It doesn't matter how "big" a man is. The average size is now 5 1/2" when it used to be 6". Personally I don't care. If you know how to use it, and you can use it well and get the job done, it shouldn't matter how big you are.

Well its quite simple, actually. Most women prefer a well-endowed man, thats just the way it is. Since a normal sized penis is not considered well-endowed(5-7 in) by womens standards, a normal sized man can't help but feel inadequate.

Naturally, it is discouraging to the man of normal stature that he is undesired by the female. You cannot change a womens primitive and instinctive oppinion regarding sex and the size of her mate. Basically, if you are not 8-10 inches, you are not big enough. Believe it or not, this is a pretty complicated issue and its not that easy to answer.
In general, men are the same as wolves or lions or any other type of animals that live in an established society...there is the Alfa male....and the rest who languish behind him. The idea is that the strongest, dominating, most physically imposing, well-endowed male of the group gets the best female....it is the way of life in the animal world. I'm not saying that the same is true in the human world, but we aren't so different. So...when men compare eachother (and believe me, men do compare), the physical attributes usually determines who is the MAN, and who just doesn't measure up. This automatically creates a certain insecurity in the less endowed man, not because he can't perform or satisfy a woman, but because he's not as BIG as the other guy.....it tends to make them feel threatened.
Pornography hasn't helped the ego of the average man either. This brings up another factor of why so many men obssess over penis size........the woman factor. Any man finding himself below 6 inches in length is consistently very self-conscious of his size.....and will stay away from conversations regarding size, or will defend the position established for them....It's not the size that matters, but the way it's used.
Why do guys obssess over penis size......because society has put the pressure on them to measure up to a specific standard or they are considered persona non grata. It´s a sad reality, but if you go into the Male Health section of Yahoo Answers you will see a large amount of questions from guys regarding penis size, and what is considered normal, or acceptable. The majority of these questions come from young guys in their teens.....that´s what it has come to.....SIZE!

Because all we have heard from society since we were little is that "size matters" and "bigger is better". From movies, tv, song, big johnson t-shirts, it is like a big joke. Woman brag on a man that well endowed. I doubt anyone has bragged on their average sized man, apart from any skill level. It is even referred to as the size of our 'manhood'. So society has equated our size to how manly we are.
It is not much different than woman and breast size. Why do so many woman get augmentations? It is because of the pressure from society as to the definition of what is sexier. But for men, this pressure is more intense since it involves our prowess and manlyness.
