How did Florida leapfrog Michigan? Just before USC's lost everyone was saying how it is USC then MIchigan and that Florida is too far back to make it? What changed everyones mind? The fact that Florida beat a two loss team in Arkansas (also Florida was favored to win that game).

Or because they didn't want a rematch so they looked for the only team that could stop the rematch?

Who knows, but this absolutely inexplicable decision will hasten the demise of the BCS.
Michigan-USC is a classic Rose Bowl match and will be by far the most interesting game.

What happened today with the Coaches, AP , and Harris Polls was an atrocity. Individuals were influenced by the weeks of rants by an immature and unprofessional coach, as well as the 2nd half politicing of an uninformed and irresponsible commentator.

Every major outlet ran a survey (ESPN, yahoo sports, Fox Sports, etc), and with nearly 2 million votes cast since Saturday night, the fans have shown that they felt that Michigan should be the ones playing on Jan. 8th vs OSU, not Florida. The country spoke, the sports writers and the coaches decided not to listen.

It's pathetic and embarassing that the pollsters were so against the idea of a rematch that they had to engineer their own championship, just to keep Michigan out.

What happened today was that the coaches and the media made up their minds to give the SEC a makeup for the BCS debacle that screwed Auburn (a team that might have actually won the title) in 2003. The pollsters have now made Florida the sacrificial lamb to be fed to the lions in Glendale, AZ this coming January.

Although the country (contrary to what Urban Meyer would like to believe) wants to see a great and glorius battle, a rematch that would draw more attention, speculation, and excitement than any in college football history, they will instead see an outmatched and overrated Florida go down in flames in front of the entire nation. Perhaps, then, at halftime, when the score is something like OSU - 31 Florida - 3, the commentators, coaches, and pundits can start to backpeddle and apologize for forcing fans to watch such a miserable game; after all, the networks and the coaches are really the only ones who wanted to see it.

Michigan does not need a rematch with OSU. We'll see them again next year at the Big House. As a fan, I'm proud we're heading to the Rose Bowl. That's the place to be for any college team. It's tradition... it's everything that's great about college football! Michigan should be proud of how far we climbed after being ranked 12th at the beginning of the year. No one thought we had a chance. Henne, Hart, and the rest of the team proved the initial rankings wrong. Go Blue! See you at the Rose Bowl!

michigan got screwed period. You can say o florida had a harder schedule but not by much. Florida had to play 4 top 25 teams and michigan had to play 3 all of them in the top 10 mind you. They both had one loss and florida lost to auburn by 10 and michigan lost to number 1 ohio state by 3 points. So florida might have had a harder schedule but not by much. And for the human polls the only reason the florida moved ahead of michigan was because no body wanted to see a rematch between michigan and ohio state. The is why we need a playoff. Even if it was just michigan playing florida to see who really deserves to go to the championship game. And to florida's head coach all i have to say is up yours for saying we definitely need a playoff system if michigan goes to the championship game. Michigan is the better team. Thats cool were going to the rose bowl. But michigan should be going to the championship game to play ohio state. My prediction of the game

OSU: 42
UF: 14

Go Big Blue

ferretcoach's site is worth reading...

Ohio State's coach Treesel and Urban Myer have been using their moths to campaign for their team to get into/get recognition for the BCS title game. Fact is this, had Michigan played on a neutral turf against Michgan they (OSU) would losse and I feel that Tressel was afraid of playing Mich again becasue he knew hi team wasn't going to win.

You heard of the Bambino and Billy Goat curse?

OK first of all Michigan and Florida have great teams. But Michigan lost to Ohio State in the regular season so its not fair to them that they would ahve to play a team in the championship they already beat. What would happen if Michigan did go and they beat Ohio State? There would be a huge controversy and that would totally screw Ohio State over.

Plus Florida has the hardest schedule in the nation and not to mention they are in and WON the hardest confrence, the SEC, in the nation. And again Michigan did not win there confrence, the Big Ten, the Buckeyes did. So it should be the 2 best teams in the nation who won there confrences!!! Not Michigan and Ohio State who are from the same confrence and Michigan did not win that!!

So get over Michigan fans you cry babys!!!

Don't me mad at UF, they did nothing but play their games. Don't put them down either, because it wasn't UF's decision to be put in that bowl game.
And the computers had UF and Michigan tied, it's just the harris poll and the humans, that did it for UF.
And USC should have never been in the #2 spot especially after losing to an unranked team. I am so glad that UCLA beat them and actually showed that USC is OVERRATED!
And how in the heck is USC still in the top 10!!! They should not be at 5!

because florida won the sec and michigan already lost to ohio st, they already had their chance to knock off ohio st in the regular season so there was no way they were going to get another shot in the title game...so get over it
