I would erase ALL religions...
not trying to be evil, but think about it...
that would basically mean world peace...
no more of those religion wars in the middle east...
no 9/11
no hollocaust
no discrimination...
of course, religion is a good thing..it can help people find their way when they're in trouble...but then again, if you weigh the good and the bad, i find that there is a lot more bad things caused by different religions

It might be "lame and unoriginal" - but E=MC2 is first and foremost on my mind.
The only other "great" discovery that I can think of, and it raises a lot of ethical and moral questions, is cloning.

printed press and writing. or i guess ink. it would make communities closer, and the world as a whole more diverse. and no, i wouldn't get rid of the atomic bomb...the discovery also gives us some pretty nice electricity.
