I shower morning and night. Very clean but I get this embarrassing and annoying infection every month. I am overweight and my legs run together does that have anything to do with it. What works and how do I stop it?

Try stopping sugar in your diet for a while. Avoid breads, beer, wine, etc.

Also there are homeopathic treatments for yeast--look into them.

It can be a frustrating vicious cycle---good luck!

First of all, make sure you are wearing all cotton undies, and are also not wearing anything that might be tight against you down there. There is a chance that weight may have something to do with it because yeast infections are a result of bacteria breeding in warm places - hence the reasons yeast infections occur where they do.

You can also try eating yogurt every day (make sure it has active enzymes and cultures) which helps keep yeast infections away. If this doesn't help, I'd consult your ob/gyn about it to see if there is anything that can be done...there is a chance you have a lingering infection that you think goes away, but doesn't -- some sort of prescription could make sure you get rid of it for good.

Hello, I'm on the second week and seeing definite improvement on my yeast infection symptoms:

Note that: If the yeast infection doesn't respond to over the counter treatment, prescription medication will likely be necessary. Similarly, if the symptoms return after two months of being treated, you should contact the doctor for professional treatment rather than resorting again to home treatment.

If this is the first time you have experienced a yeast infection, you should schedule an appointment to have the condition treated by a doctor instead of resorting to home treatment

Have you gone to the Dr. to get medicine for It??? Also if you are married or have a significant other that you have sexual relations with you can pass the yeast infection back and forth if both of you don't get treated.

A lot of things cause YI's....wearing tight clothing, noncotton underwear, diabetes, perfumed lotions (in that area) and soaps, bubblebath, etc. If you are getting recurring infections, you may need to see a doctor.

Repetitive yeast infections could be a sign of diabetes...

You might have bacterial vaginitis. The doctor will give you metronidazole and probaly a diflucan...it will clear it right up! Don't worry! It's not really that big of a deal!

Try not using soap in that area. Just rinse it with water. Soap can irritate that sensitive skin and throw it out of balance. Thats what my doctor told me and it worked.

Your PH balance is off...eat more yogurt, drink cranberry...avoid drinking TOO MUCH JUICE...like OJ...it can cause that...and get checked out. It could be medication if you are on any medication and antibiotics will do that too.
