I've been with Sprint forever and I get a really great discount through my boyfriend's employer, so I really don't want to switch providers, but I do want a new phone. I'm thinking of getting the Palm Treo 700p, but I'm just not sure. Does anyone know if Sprint is coming out with any new phones (particularly smartphones) in January? I haven't heard of any new phone rumors, but then again, I really don't know where to look. I don't know if I should just buy this phone while it's on sale or wait and hope something better comes along.
In case this helps: I'm looking for a phone that I can keep my assignments, papers, projects due dates on, one that I can keep financial information on, games (nothing big-Tetris or Bejeweled is fine) and maybe music. I need a scheduler and alarm for sure. A calculator would be nice and of course, phone stuff (duh). If you know of a phone that has all this that isn't a smartphone, I'm open to suggestions.

I don't want a Blackberry because I can't afford the extra money for the Blackberry service (or else I would want one). I'm only planning on adding the $15-20 power vision plan.

Talking from experience with my Sprint Treo 700p, it does all of what you are looking for and more. I depend on it too much... even to wake me up in the mornings because of the loud alarm. For the Treo 700p, you can watch live Fox news broadcast, comedy skits, etc... upcoming movies... it also is a great voice recorder, takes good pictures... it's a MP3 player also with "pTunes"... the options with the phone is wonderful. It's worth getting... and there is a new one coming up not sure when it's going to be released, but I heard the "Hollywood" phone is coming out... it's slimmer, in black... and has a higher pixel for the camera... but the Treo 700p does that too... If I was you... for a cheaper price... I would go with the Treo 700p.

I work for Sprint. We have a motorola i930, it sounds like everything you need, but its a flip phone. the newest treo we have is the treo 700 wx. As for anything new coming out in Jan. no. We get infromed of new products like a month in advance. But I would look into those 2 phones, if you want, oh we have blackberries too.
