Chemicals are usually abrasive so it's best to try the approach closest to nature. Blackheads and acne are caused when the sebacous glands become clogged with sebum. First of all you want to try a nonabrasive facial wash, like Bjore. Put a quarter sized drop in your hand. Then mix a teaspoon of sugar, or a teaspoon of salt into the facial cleanser. Stir this until it emulsifies into a paste. Now wash your back (and face if needed) in circular movements, being sure to pay attention to where you're likely to get blackheads and acne. Rinse and apply a nongreasy moisturizer. For the blackheads and pimples that have pus-filled heads that are presently there, wash your hands with an antibacterial soap and either use a piece of toilet paper or an antibacterial wipe. Gently squeeze the site of the blackhead until the seedlike structure comes out or the pimple until the first bit of pus is discharged. Do not oversqueeze as this will cause bruising, scarring, and further infection. I would recommend that you simply do not practice REMOVAL but also PREVENTION. The best way to combat the condition is by washing, exfoliating, and moisturizing just as above listed. ***When choosing whether you should use salt or sugar consider this: salt helps dry out acne so it's best for oily skin, whereas sugar just helps balance your skin.

Every product needs time to work. In the beginning the product washes out all the oil and dirt under the skin, and your skin looks worse for a while. After three weeks or so, it would start to work.
That could be why you feel like your skin looks better when you don't use products, because then all the dirt and acne just lies underneath.
But the important thing is to not overdoe it either. You should see a dhermatologist. The skin is more than just oily or just dry.

My skin is oily underneath and on the upperskin layer it is very dry. So I use tea tree oil face wash from the body shop, and the same scrub, but I use a moisturizer for dry skin.

Other tips is to drink alot of water, spend time in the sun, eat food without much fat and eat alot of vitamins.

But I highly recommend to see a dhermatologist, they can determine your skintype and what products suits you best. They can also tell if there is another reason to why.

Try exfoliating if you haven't already to help get rid of dead skin that can lead to acne. Dead skin cells, dirt and oil are what cause acne, not eating the wrong foods as some might say. Also if you have more oily skin to begin with, then you'll have more acne as well. Both of my older brothers are the same way, the have oily skin so they get acne more easily. I have dry/combination so it's not that bad.

Drinking plenty of water to flush the bad stuff out of your system will help as well. This doesn't mean gallons and gallons, just have the recommended 6-8 glasses of water a day.

I used to get small pimples on my back, not a lot but they were still there. So I got a scrubbing brush with a long handle and I would exfoliate my back with that, occasionally using an acne wash on it. I get a pimple or two a month, and to keep it that way, or more minimal I wash and exfoliate everyday just about. I use Equate products, the cream cleanser is oil free and they work a lot better than Clearsil, Clean & Clear, Neutrogena and Oxy, those tend to dry my face even more. You can get them in Walmart for a little more than $1 a bottle. It's worth it. And although I have dry skin, they don't irritate my skin too much.

How long do you use these products before giving up? If you're only using them for a few days, then of course your acne is getting worse. When you first begin using a product all the oil is pushed to the surface. Then after a couple days or even weeks will you see an improvement. When you stop using the products the oil just settles down again.

Oh no, that is the worst, having skin blemishes.

I have to ask you whether or not you have seen a derm. Also whether or not you can find out who's the best derm in your area.

The thing is that skin is tricky with my mom as an example, she had horrible acne for years and hated her skin.. for over 30 years. Finally she asked for Accutane. It didn't help.

Turns out that her acne was caused by excema. She didn't like to moisturize thinking she'd break out. Everything irritated her skin. Her dermatologist was even wrong, to ignore the excema and write a prescription.

Basically I am telling you, do not trust any dermatologist but only a good one. You are a young person and it's going to help you feel so much more comfortable when you take care of this. I hope your parents can take you.

Because there's really no treatment you can get online based on your description. It's not enough information. You'd have to consider your diet, your environment, your soaps, etc.

I have had hand excema and thought it was allergies to paper bags. Turns out it was the dryness of handling papers at my job. This is how important it is to get a real doctor's opinion. Sorry I don't believe Yahoo Answers is going to cut it but GOOD LUCK to you.

I feel your pain!

SOme soaps leave residue or film :fabric soaps and softeners and the conditioner you use in your hair. These can aggravate or even increase the acne.

Also when stress is high or sleep deprived but most likely connected to hormones.

Acutane is really the best for acne. It is a very strong drug and must be used with monthly Doctor visits and blood tests BUT worth it because It will heal the out breaks and you will limit your scaring.

Good LUCK and DONT PICK !

Okay first of all there is nothing wrong with you, your just going through puberty. Trust I'm in the same situation. If I were you I would talk to my mom about going to the doctors and getting a prescription medicine. That's what I did and has worked wonders. Sure I still get acne, but not nearly as much as I used to!

Two things; one puberty sucks that way, and hormonal changes of any kind totally screw with your skin. The best thing is just to LET IT BREATHE!!! The best thing for acne is not to treat the symptom, but just to clean the skin. Stridex pads are great and you won't believe the dirt you get from your pores! yuck!!! And if you play sports, your sweating probably doesn't help.

Two, you're stressing about your skin and STRESS PRODUCES ACNE!!! So stop aggrevating your condition and relish your youth. It's the only time you can be physically awkward and accepted at the same time. Enjoy!

You are drying out your skin too much with products. I know form experience that ProActiv is really harsh.
Just stop using extra strength products. If you want, you can cleanse your skin with some products for sensitive skin or just don't using anything except water on your face.

some of the acids that are used in acne products make your skin react instead of drying it up like its supposed to. make an appointment with a skin doctor and don't use any skin products (including lotion) until your appointment. look on the ingredients of acne products for the ones that use less acids, that might help you. u still need to see adoctor tho.
