Probably. Get to an ER now, broken bones are big deal and best dealt with quickly. If you don't, you'll end up in a lot more pain from them trying to fix them.

b/c you have previously fractured this ankle-there is a good chance that you have broken it again b/c the density of the bone has been weakened.

since you are 13-you really need to say something to mom or dad ( or any other adult that is around) so they can take you to the emergency room.

if your tailbone is broken-there is nothing that can be done to repair it but time. sitting on a donut cushion will help it heal and relieve the pain too.

as for the ankle-a shot is not necessary unless you are in severe pain. the dr will more than likely give you some pain pills to take and then take some xrays of your ankle to determine whether or not the ankle is broken. if it is and it's not severe then he will have one of the techs in the er cast it for you-this is not painful. if it is not broken, then you probably just have a really bad sprain or a nasty bruise for which they will just wrap an ace bandage around it and give you crutches to walk with and advise you to stay off of it as much as possible.

er trips can be scary for anyone (no matter how old you are) but the important thing to remember is that the people there are trained to help make you better and fix your injuries. you need to have your ankle looked at sweetie-it could get much worse if you ignore it. if the ankle IS broken and you say nothing about it-it could not heal properly, which would make it weak and allow for it to be broken again easily in the future.

take a deep breath and go tell someone-it's not fun to be in pain and a broken ankle can hurt for a very long time if not taken care of. you'll be ok.

Hey Miley,

I know how you feel going to the ER. When I broke my foot I knew it was broken, but went to the ER only 3 days later, because my parents saw it. I just taped it up.
Was you ankle broken badly? How long did it take to heal? And when did it happen? After a bone is all heald up, it is stronger than before and will never break in the same place again. So I think your ankle might be only sprained.
Good luck

fix a big bowl of water with ice and submerge your ankle for 15 minutes it will hurt but then go numb wait 15 then do it again. this will help keep the swelling down. if you wait even if it is not broken and you just torn or pulled some stuff the swelling will get bad and when you do go to the doctor they will have to wait for the swelling to go down some inorder to see whats going on. stay calm and try and relax. The ER is a joke ice and elevation will get you through the night.

You need to go to the e.r. You probably wont get a shot, if thats what your scared of. If you wait until tomorrow, and you have a broken bone, it could become much worse then you will have to get a shot. Go to the e.r. right now. Let us know how you are doing.

Be brave and go to E.R. especially if your ankle has already turned black. Let them decide if it is broken. They can deal with the ankle but there's nothing they can do about the tailbone.(Sorry)

you need to get to the ER and get checked out, if you can't walk could be from your ankle or your tail bone,go get checked out i don't think you will have to get a shot to get it checked.

The only sure way is to go and find out. If that means going to the er than go.
