No, Dearheart, I also haven't know a really "gifted" psychic but I know that we each have our own gifts and people can use those in different ways. I read the Druid Animal Deck and the Celtic Tarot. I can also "see" the Runes and unfortunately can sometimes hear more things than I'd like (no, I need no medication :) I know others who can see auras and hear their spirit guides. Some can see spirits. It's all in what you choose to believe. No one but yourself can make you. My advise would be to trust your gut when deciding whether something is real or not. Your head and heart will at times lead you wrong but your gut rarely if any, will. Good luck, my Dear, and Blessings.

Hi.
If you seek knowledge in this field, your best bet is by books, not the Internet. I say this from experience that not everything you read is true, it's misconstrued. You have already some good answers but I must advise that Silver Ravenwolf's series of books range from beginner, intermediate and advanced. The one from her to really look into is her encyclopedia, which is basically the basics. I don't need to prove anything, so I kindly respect your detailed words, that's appreciative. There are some individuals who possess the ability to 'tune' into other dimensions- the human mind thinks in the third, and we have 5. This correlates with psychics and clairvoyants- this is a second string affect that drops the domino on tarot readers, which I have done for over 15 years. There are over 300 decks available to the public, it is a matter of how willing you are to open up a little more and seek other alternatives. I am not converting you, just stating my experiences. One of the best books I can recommend for further studies is Stephen Walter Sterling's Tarot Awareness- I use it every day, it is the most comprehensive yet written simplistically.
I hope this information helps- if you need anything at all or have questions, by means gimme a hollar, I don't bite. I have a 360, so you can visit that if you wish to do so. May you have a great week ahead of you.

The main issue with trying to give proof of psychic ability is that there really isn't any widely accepted device or scientific method of proof.
If you're wanting just your own proof, well, I'm getting some strange phrase like Boofydoof, blue be doop, or something like that. Also, something with the word "grinding." Not sure what that's all about, but hope it means something to you.
On a side note, don't look for your own personal proof in the big stuff, but rather the every day images that happen. Just today I was in the grocery store picking up a bottle of salsa off the shelf. I got an image from a couple of years ago when I dropped a salsa jar in the store and got it all over myself. Then, as I was at the cashier, the bagger dropped my bottle of salsa on the floor and splattering it all over his jeans.

Without evidence and the ability to to pass a controlled test; any psychic claim is worthless. You can "believe" like a religion but that does not mean it is true. Humans are pattern seeking creatures and we are at times gullible. Some more than others it appears.

A lot of the time, for me, the psychic stuff doesn't work on demand but is rather a random thing. People who spend time with me learn over time that sudden decisions I make, like taking the back-roads home when the freeway should be faster and it's later discovered there's a nasty accident on the freeway, are eventually trusted and later unquestioned.

It's a hard thing to prove. I suggest you go have a sitting with a clairvoyant. I know a woman that does Reiki healing sessions. She often recieves messages for the people she's working on, and they're usually right!
I guess the most important thing for you, as you want to believe, is to go into things with a truly open mind. It sounds like you "want" to believe, but your reflex is to doubt.

gifts like that can't come on demand (except for maybe tarot) anyone who tells you differently is either extremely gifted or not psychic. For years my best friend and i shared a bond when we explored it we found we could read each others minds even a small change in facial expression wed instantly know something was up we stopped talking for two years when we saw each other we could still read each others mind and he doesn't even believe in that stuff my point being you don't have to have the gift to do it just have reckonize it.

For those who are ready, no explanation is necessary and for those who are not, no explanation is possible! http://www.psychic-junkie.com
I believe we are all psychic, but for the majority the gift or the belief has been long knocked out of them. Educated out is another way of looking at it. Many professional psychics have grown up in a psychic friendly environment. Perhaps a grand-parent or parent with the knowledge has helped bring the extra sense out in the open and encouraged its use. But there are as many practicing psychics who have not had the benefit of caring psychic guidance and who have still managed to develop and hone this natural extra sense.
To tap in to your Psychic Sense you can go to my free develop-psychic-ability page here: http://www.psychic-junkie.com/develop-psychic-ability.html
And the 'Am I Psychic?' page is here http://www.psychic-junkie.com/am-i-psychic.html
And some interesting psychic tests are here: http://www.psychic-junkie.com/psychic-test.html

for one thing your not going to find true and gifted psychics in places like television, or your average psychic fair or on psychic hotlines. true gifted psychics don't take money for their services. all of us have the ability to some degree, you have to look into yourself. you've probably have had experiences not so easily explained away by coincidence. the truly gifted don't seek constant validation and the limelight. you may have met one and not known it. they are out there using their gift wisely to help people who may not even realise they're being helped.

There is one book that I would recommend as a Pagan, it's called Solitary Witch. There is information on all aspects of practicing Wicca, including sharpening the senses, casting circles, tarot readings, palm reading, sigils, learning the seven chakras (crown, mind's eye, the eyes, throat, chest, solar plexus, perineal, and feet), color coding of candles and clothing during a ritual, incences and herbs for spells, and most importantly the one year and one day of devotion for the self-initiation process of paganism/wiccanism.
You can also learn your personal traces of ancestry, e.i., nationality, to denote which path you should naturally take and the God and the Goddess (I want to say "will" but I don't decide they they do) may assign you to a particular god/goddess to whom you ask questions.
