Sounds a lot like Achilles and Penthesilenia when the Amazones fought on the side of the Trojans during the Trojan War. It could also be Theseus and Hippolyta except Theseus didn't kill her. He bested her in combat and won the right to marry her. She bore him a son then her amazone subjects came to her in the middle of the night with a knife for her to kill Theseus. She couldn't bare to kill him so she stuck the dagger in herself instead.

Hmmm. Well, the only Amazon name I know is Penthusilea, which Google told me I had misspelled (it should be Penthesilea?).

Google search: penthesilea love

Her successful battles caught Achilles' attention, and he slowly worked his way toward her so that he could face the famous Amazon. As he was about to face her, Chalcon of Cyparissus (who had fallen in love with Penthesilea) tried to deter him. Achilles swiftly killed Chalcon and his battle with Penthesilea soon ensued.

Achilles defeated Penthesilea, but when he saw her beauty, he, like Chalcon, fell in love with the brave Amazon and quickly lamented his act.

I don't know that story, but in Oedipus Rex the son kills his father and sleeps with his mother before he realizes who they are. In the end he gouges out his eyes.
