Intelligence is very a subjective term. There are different types of intelligence. Here are a list of a few people who have impressed me because of their influence and intelligence in varying fields:
Nikola Tesla - an inventor, physicist, mechanical engineer, and electrical engineer of unusual intellectual brilliance and practical achievement
Leonardo da Vinci - was an Italian Renaissance architect, musician, anatomist, inventor, engineer, sculptor, geometer, and painter.
Isaac Asimov - Author and biochemist, a highly successful and exceptionally prolific writer best known for his works of science fiction
Bruce Lee - Martial artist and martial arts actor who is widely regarded as one of the most influential martial artists of the 20th century
Gandhi - spiritual and political leader of India who led the struggle for India's independence from the British Empire
Martin Luther King, Jr - the most famous leader of the American civil rights movement
Albert Einstein - regarded as the greatest scientist of the 20th century
Abraham Lincoln - 16th President of the United States, the Great Emancipator
Confucius - famous thinker and social philosopher of China, whose teachings have deeply influenced East Asia for centuries
Xerox PARC Team - Bob Taylor, Alan Kay, Chuck Thacker, Butler Lampson, etal (First modern interconnected PC - c. 1973). These are the guys who really started it all with the first networked, consumer computer system. An example of group intelligence at work.

Intelligence doesn't come from simply memorising textbooks.The saying goes," the most intellectual man in the world will come to a conclusion that he knows nothing".
I believe the most intelligent people are those who practice humility in its simplest form!
