Ok this is all well and good and the first guy that answered my question told me only the things I knew already. I want the interesting mystery. Obviously I am not lucky enough to come across someone stupid from the order themselves that would break a vow and tell me everything secret that they do, but come on this is just boring!! And why doesn't anyone ever mention the famous people like einstien that were in it, or george washington?

+ I just read your additional info and it seems that you are unhappy with the answers that you were given. I am neither a mason or any other order, but I have done some research as I am interested also.
There are rumors that the Templars were among the first to visit North America. There are rumors that the templars discovered information and treasures and religious relics when in Jerusalem which may have included (the spear of destiny, the holy grail, the Ark of the covenant, and much more) the resting place of these things is unknown to me and your guess is as good as mine but I will paste some interesting links that I have found.
+ The Holy Grail may have been the information on the "Blood line" of family history up until ___ date of Jesus Christ. or it may have been his cup from the last supper, no solid evidence either way exists. There are plenty of items like the true cross, the original bible documents(gospels according to Mary, Thomas, etc.), the location of King Soloman;s mine. Some say that the secrets and maybe the treasures are buried at Oak Island off the Maine coast. Others say that the secrets are near a chapel in Scotland originally owned by the Sinclair familly (relatives of the French Saint Clair familly who had Templar connections. Finding the truth will most likely not come from your asking a question here on Yahoo Questions and Answers. maybe you will be the one who figures it all out. Remember that the groups that may be extinct like the Scion and the Cathars all died without telling what was wanted from them. Maybe they just did not know anything and they died because someone thought they knew something then again maybe there was something. Good luck on your quest as I am interested and look for answers also and maybe I will figure something out. You never know. So I hope the links help you and good luck.

The Knights Templar were a group of First Crusade knights that took monastic vows in Jerusalem. They claimed to organize the order to protect pilgrims to the Holy Land but, in fact sought King Solomon’s treasure. Either they found it or just acquired great wealth by bringing nobles into the order but, regardless they basically founded the European banking system by storing money at Templar centers in Europe and exchanging they for script that could be used at Templar center in the middle east. They were eventual deemed heretics by the Pope and most were burned at the stake other escaped to Scotland used the Freemason Secret Societies to hide there existence and create the Scottish Rite of the Masons. Other escaped to Portugal and gave Columbus the Moorish maps to North America. The Holy Grail is the cup of Christ used at the last supper to give communion to the apostles. It is a legend.

The Poor Fellow-Soldiers of Christ and of the Temple of Solomon popularly known as the Knights Templar, was one of the most famous of the Christian military orders. It existed for about two centuries in the Middle Ages, created in the aftermath of the First Crusade of 1096 to ensure the safety of the large numbers of European pilgrims who flowed toward Jerusalem after its conquest. The Templars were an unusual order in that they were both monks and soldiers, making them in effect some of the earliest "warrior monks" in the Western world. Members of the Order played a key part in many battles of the Crusades, and the Order's infrastructure innovated many financial techniques that could be considered the foundation of modern banking. The Order grew in membership and power throughout Europe, until it ran afoul of King Philip IV of France, who caused members in France to be tortured into confessions and burned at the stake. Under influence from King Philip, Pope Clement V then forcibly disbanded the order on Friday 13 October, 1307.

Hey Silverboy470,

The Knights Templar is a higher level of the Masons. You can read all about the Masons on line, or in the library, contrary to what people say about it being secret. The objective: To make better people (methods to improve yourself). Nothing exotict there. Masonry is the oldest fraternity in the world.

The Poor Fellow-Soldiers of Christ and of the Temple of Solomon (Latin: Pauperes commilitones Christi Templique Solomonici), popularly known as the Knights Templar, was one of the most famous of the Christian military orders.

The Order grew in membership and power throughout Europe, until it ran afoul of King Philip IV of France (Philip the Fair), who caused members in France to be tortured into confessions and burned at the stake. Under influence from King Philip, Pope Clement V then forcibly disbanded the order on Friday 13 October, 1307.
The order was founded around 1118 by French knights Hughes de Payens, a veteran of the First Crusade, and Geoffrey de St. Omer for the protection of pilgrims on the road from Jaffa and Jerusalem. At first, the order had only nine knights as members and relied on gifts and cast-offs. As a result, they were originally known as the Poor Knights of Christ. King Baldwin II of Jerusalem gave them a headquarters on the Temple Mount, above what was believed to be the ruins of the Temple of Solomon. It was from this location that the Order took its name of Poor Knights of Christ and the Temple of Solomon.
