Not....there are 50 states. That is it.

...whether the state calls itself a "commonwealth" or a state is not relevant. The US has territories which do not count and Iraq is not a US Territory. Panama and Okinawa were given back, and Puerto Rico has been denied statehood many times.

DC will never be a state as long as the Nations Capitol remains there.

Learn the song "50 Nifty United States" (I learned it when I was 8). It has the states listed in alphabetical order within it. I memorized the list when I learned that song--hard not to when it's set to music. I can list the states outloud in under 20 seconds. I trot out this skill at parties and whatnot.

Your either not American or you Geography sucks. There are only 50 states. The last two to join the union were Hawaii and Alaska.
