No offensive meant at all - I'm trying to help. Emerald is okay but not exactly unique if that is what you are shooting for. Jane, as in "She's a plain Jane," has to go. Try looking for names in sources other than name books because you will only find names that everyone else uses. You have to look in different places if you want different names.

I love Emerald, but not Emerald-Jane if it is said altogether like one name. Just my opinion, but I think Jane as a middle name with Emerald sounds ok, but it's too old fashioned and plain to pair with a cool name like Emerald.

Is it going to be Emerald Jane or Emerald-Jane. I like as a first name middle name combo, but all together it sounds odd as just one name. It's pretty!

No...it's horrible.
Can you imagine a 40 year old women at a job interview saying...hi, I'm Emerald-Jane and not working at Walmart?

I do not care for it....but Jane sounds too old and Emerald reminds me of a stone. Personal opinion of course...if you like it that is all that matters.
