Recently there was an episode where a homeless man was on. A producer tracked his life and then gave him $100,000 anonymously just to see what he would do with it. He kept referring to the situation as his "experiment". Then Oprah started talking about how she wanted to conduct an experiment on a human so she gave a homeless man a suit and told him where to show up for a job interview. He took the suit and didn't show up.
For some reason, I felt very ashamed and embarassed for this homeless man on the show. The producer and Oprah kept calling him an experiment and were talking about him as if he wasn't there. It made me pretty mad. These 2 people were acting like God. The producer went on to explain how the subject was unable to retain the money, even though he was given every opportunity. Meanwhile, the "subject" is sitting right beside him turning red. I definitely feel differently about the Oprah show now.

It was pretty messed up. But Oprah is a guru/goddess to millions of people, apparently, so I guess she thinks she can do whatever she wants. Watch her the next time she's talking to an audience member -- look for the thinly-disguised disgust on her face, like she's smelling something bad but doesn't want to admit it.

What an elitist.

That really sucks! I respect Oprah because of what she has achieved but if what you are saying is true, then that is so typical of rich snotty people. She of all people should know better since she was once very poor.
