It depends actually. More facts would be appreciated.

Just because a certain job position pays more, it doesn't mean that someone should jump straight to that position (although, again, it depends on the importance money have for that someone)! Working conditions are also important. Too much pressure, long working hours, co-workers and employers with bad attitudes can make even a job that pays high salaries undesirable.

Assuming, though, that working conditions are pretty much the same (except from the hot girls I mean), then it is certainly better to work at Guess. This is a significant raise in his income and hot girls can also be found elsewhere.

Personally, I would go for Guess. $6.15 nowadays will get me nothing, and I happen to like having some spare change. But, if your brother is having a hard time deciding, he should really look into finding out what Guess has to offer, what will they offer, and what is expected from him. Flexibility, benefits, requirements and duties...

As for Hollister, if he wants to stay there, he should talk to management about pay increases or what extra duties he can handle to be able to get that raise.

Again, for myself, I would go for Guess for the $8 pay, even though I like Hollister clothes better. However, I would pick the one that offers faster and better advancement.

Working at Hollister or Guess probably isn't a career, tell him to enjoy life. If that means going to Guess and getting paid more and then hanging out with the girls afterwards, so be it. If that means staying at Hollister, just stay. It makes no difference in the long run.

Money isn't everything!

Expecially if you have few financial obligations. I am assuming he is fairly young so if he enjoys his current job, enjoys his current life, if he doesn't need the payraise, there will be other opportunities in the future if he decides to move on to bigger and better things (for many people that means more money).

He should do whatever makes him happy! Tell him to enjoy the ride! and do whatever he thinks will make his quility of life all the more enjoyable!

Well, if he works 10 hours a week, that's a whopping $37 a month more.. before taxes.

Does it really matter here? He apparently wants the job to meet people,.. not for the money.

Let me get this right. Your brother is more interested in the scenery than getting ahead in this world by making more income. If he has more money to spend in the first place, he can probably date a hotter girl than he can get with low income.

If Guess pays 1.85 cents more per hour, take it.
