first off you need to refer back to the scientific method. those are the steps that you use for bringing everything together in an experiment and that will help you with your theory. when you create your hypothesis, you then test it to make sure that your hypothesis is proved or disproved and that is how you develop your theory around the data that is consistent or inconsistent with your hypothesis. In other words, your guess of the outcome will be valid or invalid depending on the results of your test work and information.
