If you're using an over the counter test you should follow the package instructions. Why, I wonder, did you wait this long to investigate why you haven't had a period? There are other reasons for not menstruating than pregnancy. Whether your test comes up negative or positive, you should see your doctor.

After 3 months the test will jump up and down and scream at you if you're pregnant. Pregnancy tests are extremely accurate a few weeks after conception, regardless of time of day.

It really doesn't matter, but whenever you do you need to hold it for 4 hours before you take it....that's why people say in the morning, because you've generally already held it that long.
