Jay-z is way better then DMX. DMX has had some good songs but Jay-z change the entire game in the hip hop world. He is the greatest of all time.

To answer truthfully it's got to be Jay Z, but I like both really. DMX probably isn't to everybody's taste, which is not a case with Jay Z and the collaboration with Linkin Park was great. But these 2 are so different, I'm not sure you can compare them.

Jay Z hands down..DMX has made good tracks but isn't always consistent whereas Jay Z delivers on every album. X doesn't come close to Jay's lyrical content and wordplay. Both good but Jay Z will be classed as one the greats along with B.I.G and 2Pac, whereas DMX will not.

Personally i prefer Jay Z, he isn't as harsh as DMX. Both have done some great songs tho. DMX has a set style, you know straight away it's him, whereas Jay Z experiments with different styles. Numb/encore was a brilliant song, as was Bonnie and Clyde ans Big Pimpin'. Oh who am i kidding.. I'm a Jay Z junkie pmpl

It's Jay-Z all the way man. DMX is nowhere near the lyrical proficency of Jay. DMX has more deep and emotional lyrics. I guess it depends on your overall style of music.

Jigga easily...X is dope but lyrically DMX got consistently worse with each album. Jay-z only got worse on Kindgom Come but ruled rap for 10 years before that album.
