In my house we have two computers, a desktop computer and a laptop. The desktop works fine, but the laptop is now having trouble connecting to our wireless network. It comes up but the password is now blank. We have linksys cable modem connected to a motorola router. The router connects to the computer. This has worked for over a year and stopped working today. Also, the connection was always very weak.

I already reset the linksys modem, but saw no messages or change.

Reset the modem and router, in that order. If still not working, make sure you have your wireless laptop connecting to your network and enter in your network key. You can find this information by logging into your router via your desktop pc. Check your router's documentation or contact your router's manufacturer if you don't know the login info.

First, do the "fire drill":

1) power off your cable modem, wait 5 seconds
2) Power the cable modem, Wait until all the lights settle.
3) Power off the router, wait 5 seconds
4) Power the router back on
5) Move your laptop close to the router and try again.
6) If it does not work, you may need to re-enter your network key.

I think your Wireless Security ID goes there, not a password.
