what is floating and sinking i need answers because i can't find them on the web ASAP and thanks

FLOATING: staying at the top of the water (or other liquid)
SINKING: getting underneath all the water (or other liquid)

If there is more to the question, we need it. My answer is adequate but seems rather simplistic.

first, 2 items are involved here.. it can be a liquid and solid.. or 2 liquids

an item would float IF its density is lower than the density of the liquid.. on the other hand, and item would sink IF its density is higher than the density of the liquid. (solid and liquid items)

thus, if you mix oil and water, for example, you will notice that oil is on top of water, because oil has a lower density than that of water..

floating is done by displacing the weight of the water

sinking is done with depressurization to alter the displacement of the water

sinking is when something doesnt float
