It sounds like the transmission could have locked up. If the motor just hums that is what happened. It is time for a new one.

Ge Washing Machine Not Agitating

2017-01-01 11:24:47 · answer #2 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

My GE high capacity washer is model S3700E4WW. It would fill, drain, and spin, but wouldn't agitate. Problem turned out to be the "agitator coupler" part #WH49X10042. It is a plastic hub about the size of a coffee cup located under the agitator. To reach it, I pulled straight up on the agitator as hard as I could until it popped loose. Don't let it hit you in the face! Before you remove the coupler, try to turn it by hand. If you can turn it, it needs replacing. I removed one 7/16" hex bolt then pulled hard on the coupler until it finally came off the spline gear underneath. The teeth inside it were worn down. The new coupler & bolt cost me $11 with tax at my local parts store. I bolted the new one down, pushed the agitator back onto it, and...success! Washer works great now.

Ge Washer Won T Agitate

2016-11-11 02:05:45 · answer #4 · answered by ? 4 · 0 0

I know what this is!!!!! i just fixed mine for like $17.00.

If you take the washer apart and look under the tub you will see a motor. Take the motor off and you will find a SMALL white plastic piece. Holding the motor to some shaft. That Plastic piece is broken. Mine had a hair line crack but it is the problem.

GO here http://repair2000.com/agitate.htm and look at the picture the small white plastic in the center is what you are replacing.

Do a google search for your Make and model of washer and the word repair or wont agitate.

I am by no means a repair man but i was able to fix mine. Hope this helps.

I think it was called a motor cuppler.

It's early for me. Forgive me. I'd be spinning and highly agitated if that happened to my washer.

Because it's a pundit not an inciter.

Sorry, couldn't resist. Remailers answer is solid. Call you local appliance parts dealer with your model number,if you need it right away.

sounds like you need to go to partselect.com.they have a repair help section, they will trouble shoot your machine and offer the parts to buy over the Internet. i am currently repairing a dryer and getting the part for 50% cheaper over the Internet than going to my local appliance store for parts. you need to look for different suppliers on the net though, different prices i am sure you can find a deal.....good luck
