Nope, it follows the typical animated movie plot, happy endings for all with lots of song and dance.

Unfortunately, yes. It ends with Mumble trapped in a penguin exhibit in a zoo. He starts hallucinating and throws a fish frantically at the painted wall. Then he throws back his head and screams, the camera zooms out from his eye, to an aerial view of the zoo, a city, the world, and then outer space, Space Oddysey style. And then the scene fades to black and the credits start playing. The End.

No it doesn't. Don't listen to the last guy, although he is describing a scene from the movie, towards the end, it doesn't end there. That scene actually causes the happy ending. Cute movie :)
