They can have a pretty bad biting problem. But it just depends on the animal. You have to be willing to spend LOTS of time taming them.
Ferrets also have their own distinct scent, which bothers some people.
Another consideration is that they require a large, expensive cage with plenty of room. Toys and other supplies can also add up to be rather pricey.
That all being said, a ferret -- or better, two or more -- can be a very entertaining companion and a great pet if you are a responsible owner. If you do decide to get one, consider adopting.
