I have a dual boot system: Win2K Pro and Win2k server. This is on the pc I built. It won't go past the memory check and the Hard drive check. I can't even get into safe mode or boot from a floppy. I noticed that the h/d light stays on solid when usually it flickers some. I've tried unplugging everything except the monitor and it still does not boot. What else can I try?

It has been working fine for the past 3 yrs. My daughter was rearranging her room and now it doesn't work. I even unplugged the hard drives from the motherboard and it still won't boot.

I've reset the motherboard by disconnecting everything including the vid card and removing/replacing the cmos battery. Still nothing.

If you just built it, make sure everything is properly plugged in and/or seated and try again. If it worked before just not now, no clue other than suggest a good swift kick to show it who's boss.

I would try replacing the motherboard. If everything seems to be working, but it wont go into boot, try it with another motherboard. Also, the ram could be bad. If you've removed the HD and it goes into boot, that's all I can think of.

on another pc download this, http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/
Then use it to scan everything, look through your bios and check to see what memory it see's try the hard drive in another machine.

It does not sound like the mobo because of it actually starting the memory check.

also disable the Stop on all errors, and see if it will boot then.
