You need to know if the city fees are cheap in the place to where you intend to move, also if eletric light, wather , telephone, and other public services works and are provided.
After that it is best take a look arround and see if the place is clean,
if the people in the neighbourhood are polite and if it is safe your children play out there.
Take a look also if it is easy to arrive there, remember that during the winter can have snow. Look the number of times burgals come to the place to thief. Try to know also all things about safety of the place where to where you intend to move.
Look if there are supermaket and stores next.

It must look uncluttered, decent cars (for middle class at least), no registered sex offenders living within it, well lit streets, newer rather than older, and last but not least a good market value for the house i'll buy.
