Sexually repressed, submissive, childlike ... The term feminine does not have good connotations for me. I've too often been chastisted to 'be more feminine' when pursuing my intellectual and physical goals to find it a pleasant thing. Femininity is a limiting quality, by definition.... Masculinity entails that a person CAN do something: strength, agression, capability. Femininity implies that a person cannot: softness, submissiveness, childlike vulnerability. I disagree with the values society has placed on the 'feminine' ... they're not exactly 'of the female', more 'products of the male imagination' if you ask me.

To me the word feminine means soft and helpless, bats her eyes, and needs a big strong man to take care of her. Feminine is the opposite of masculine which mean big strong man who dominates his woman. Neither, in my mind is complimentary.

Well, feminine simply means the gal is more lady-like, soft spoken and dressed appropriately (i meant not like a boyish attire).
